The Wobbelstopper 4K is the flopper stopper for your boat: a mechanical boat stabilizer for use at anchor. You hang it in the water beside the boat, from the main boom or over the side, where it slows the rolling. No power, no installation. Designed for boats up to 12 meters.

Open on the way down
The flaps stand upright. The device drops quickly and smoothly to depth.
Closed when pulled up
The flaps fold flat into one closed surface.

It has to be moved along. That is exactly what slows the roll.

Slot the frame together, insert the flaps, hook on the line set. Everything comes pre-assembled in the set.

Secure the lowering line to the swung-out main boom or to a strong point at the side of the boat.

We recommend the 4K for boats up to 40 feet and the 6K for anything longer.
Boats differ in weight, so length is a guide rather than a hard limit. If in doubt, take the larger model. Material, mechanics and scope of delivery are the same for both · the only difference is the surface area.

What buyers want to know beforehand
Which model fits my boat?
Up to 40 feet, or about 12 meters hull length, we recommend the 4K with four flaps. Above that, the 6K with six flaps. Boats are built to different weights, so length is a guide: with a heavy hull or a lot of superstructure, take the larger model if in doubt. For a stronger effect, you can also use two systems on one boat.
Is it Wobbelstopper or Wobble Stopper?
Wobbelstopper, spelled with “el”. Because the name is new, Google often suggests the spelling “wobble stopper” as you type. If that is how you found us, you are in the right place.
Is the Wobbelstopper a flopper stopper?
Yes. A flopper stopper, also called a rocker stopper, is a device that is hung in the water beside the boat at anchor to slow its rolling. The Wobbelstopper works on this principle: when the boat rolls down, the flaps open and it sinks with almost no resistance. When the boat rolls back up, they close and slow the motion. Made in Bad Hofgastein, Austria.
Is the Wobbelstopper a boat stabilizer?
Yes, a mechanical one for use at anchor. The terms boat stabilizer and ship stabilizer cover two very different things: permanently installed systems that work while under way, and passive devices that are lowered into the water outboard once the boat is at rest. The Wobbelstopper belongs to the second kind · which is why we call it a flopper stopper.
How is it different from a gyro stabilizer?
A gyro or fin system is permanently installed in the boat, needs power on board and also works under way. Installing one is a job for a shipyard. The Wobbelstopper is hung from the main boom or over the side, needs neither power nor any work on the boat, and in return only works while the boat is at rest. Two different jobs, not two price classes of the same thing.
Do I need power or modifications to the boat?
No. The Wobbelstopper works purely mechanically. It is hung from the main boom or over the side of the boat and lowered into the water. Nothing is drilled, glued or wired on the boat, and you can take it off again at any time.

We ship within the EU. Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Iceland are outside the EU customs territory, and we do not currently ship there. Pickup in Bad Hofgastein is open to everyone, wherever you live. For anything else: write to us and we will find a solution case by case.
